The goal?

Recommended Posts

I like that players make up challenges and stuff to create games within the game. A definitive ending would be nice though. Like colonizing the surface building a rocket and escaping. How many dupes can you save? Players who want to stick around and base build can ignore the objective and play as we currently do but there would be a tangible end for players who just want to experience the game over say 100 hours but not pump 1000 hours in to it.

I would like to see custom scenarios become a thing for players to more easily edit their worlds and world rules.

With the automation upgrade I had the idea of creating a puzzle / escape room map in debug mode. Like the film Cube but as the automation can be rewired by another player it seemed like it might fall flat.

One funny Idea me and my flatmate have is to make a world where the printer leads to a deadly relay race, similar to what happens in the film "The Cube", where every room is a challenge and a deadly hazard. Only the lucky would then be able to survive it and reach the comfortable base.

Here is a 'Lemmings' or 'The Cube' custom map challenge I've started, feel free to give this saved game a try.

Objective: Try to navigate your dupes through the map while surviving.  Tip: you might need to use 'red alert' mode at one point to keep them awake at night.

Rules:  don't deconstruct doors or interfere with automation circuits.

*  This was surprisingly hard to create due to various quirks with debug tools. Might try adding more traps and content later.

Lemmings 1-1.sav

@midjones I enjoyed that thank you. I managed to solve the very first obstacle without digging out extra resources. If that was intended it was fun to solve :)

I had a mishap in your screenshot area on my first run but my second attempt went better. Here's the results if you're interested. Beware spoilers.

I'd like to see more maps like this. I have some ideas but not the time.

Haha, glad you enjoyed it. Yes it was intended the way you described. I've updated the save file with a couple more areas. Man, dupes are such idiots :)
