How to rename a texture/anim/build/atlas-0?

Hello, so I'm kinda stuck on what to do if somebody can help me with this that'd really be great :D!

So, I want to make some different textures for trees, rocks, ect. to give the world a bit more life.

Now I'm stuck on how do I rename the texture to something different? I know that if I decompile the texture with ktools I can rename the scml to something different but the textures lose a lot of quality with that & the animations become ruined. So instead I just copy pasted the folder converted atlas-0 into png edited it then convert it back into tex, & now I'm stuck on how to rename it.

 

Here's a example I edited the atlas-0 but the texture still called "algae_bush" & as result overrides normal algae_bush texture :(
