Bloxxed
There are not many accessible ways of measuring height in ONI. You have cells, or each 1x1 square on the map, and then pixels (not at all feasible; way too tiny). Therefore, I present to you: the air vent! We can easily measure the water levels in any reservoir by stacking air vents. These cheap, stackable, objects are conveniently divided into equal sections of thirds for at-a-glance measuring. Tired of counting kilograms of water? Air vent Let's take the contaminated water cistern, pictured above. You would say that the water level is three and two-thirds (3 2/3) cells tall. Notice where each third ends. *Ladders may be a suitable alternative, but they are very crooked. eggsvbacon
I'm math challenged, how would one then specifically know how much is in there? This would depend on how wide the chamber is, right? So you'd need to do some math initially, right? Bargeral
It's a cool yardstick for getting a quick relative value at a glance. More of a "wait, my waters going down too fast" than it is a "how many showers can I support" kind of deal. If your water drops a third every ten cycles and then it's down a whole panel in one cycle after hooking up a new system, then you know you've got a problem. Suggestions that it's imprecise miss the point.
