sadovsf
I think it would be incredibly usefull to have some valve (and vent) which will allow flow through only when there is nowhere else to flow to. Basically being able to control cases where there is too much liquid / gas in system and we need to went out overflow to some reservoir so for example toilets wont stop to work if they fill valve system completelly. Or simply you can guide vents system to end of the line first outputting gas from end to begin instead of splitting flow half on each crossection. Hope you have an idea and that its not too impossible Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/84501-overpressure-valve/ Share on other sites

The bridge has priority on the flow of water, so as long as their is space the water will use the bridge, as soon as the system i backed up the water will travel through the pipe under the bridge and go to your "Excess" reservoir. I hope this helps Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/84501-overpressure-valve/#findComment-976384 Share on other sites
sadovsf
Well, that's quite interesting mechanics. Any idea if it is there to stay? Does any building input have priority over pipe, even in gases case? This opens another level of systems to build Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/84501-overpressure-valve/#findComment-977018 Share on other sites
BlueLance
Every building, valve and bridge has priority over a section of pipe. So if you have a pipe run through several buildings the first building will be the only one to get the liquid or gas until it is full and then the water will continue on. It has been like this for the past 3 updates so It would be safe to assume it will be staying. It has also been using in conjunction with a valve to create a make-shift mechanical filter so that only one gas or liquid would be able to pass through. I have linked this below as well. A simple way to explain how it works, It takes advantage of the fact that a bridge and a valve take priority over the next section of pipe, what the valve does is it keeps circulating a small amount of a single gas. Because of this only the gas which is circulating in the mechanical filter has priority to use the pipe bridge, whilst every other gas cannot use it since it cannot merge with the circulating packages. sadovsf
Thats sick love this! Thanks for your time. This is oppening whole lot of new stuff for me, i'am going to test some right away Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/84501-overpressure-valve/#findComment-977047 Share on other sites

Obviously please do test them before using them just in-case you make a boo boo XD Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/84501-overpressure-valve/#findComment-977050 Share on other sites
Neotix
Mechanical filters are awesome. They're really efficient (lose only 1g/s in flow for deadloop) and quite compact (2x3 tile). I'm using them all the time in my base and almost forgot about electric ones. I unfortunately do not use them I did at one point and I do not find them cheaty per say, But I have enough electricity that It is less hassle for me to just use the powered ones.
