Original idea from this thread 

I just added my own variation.

Buffer 1 = 200s Buffer 2 = 200s Buffer 3 = 101s

Filter 1 = 199s Filter 2 = 199s

Total time worked = buffer 1 + buffer 2 - (buffer 2 - filter 2) + buffer 3 = 500s (for the values i used)

Coal generator threshold = 100%

manual generator threshold = whenever you want hydrogen generator to kick in

Total time worked = how long you want it to kick in

coal generator has a storage of 500 Kg of coal and it goes through 1Kg of coal a second. hence why i used 500 seconds.

With this arrangement you can make total time anything you want, from 1 second to infinity! just keep adding more (Or+buffer+filter) gate combos.
