geniusthemaster Posted October 28, 2017 Share Posted October 28, 2017 the alerts for food has decayed are very annoying, perhaps it could be replaced with a soft ding and green text. similar with plant has died when deleting plants from tiles, it should be moreover named plant has been removed and alarm removed on that i think. and building lacks resources should be displayed only for the first 5 minutes of the cycle. the red animations for missing resources is also very distracting i think it should be demoted to a dark non strobing icon for plants. Phlogiston Posted January 17, 2018 Share Posted January 17, 2018 Yes, the alerts priorities are a wee bit off sometimes and the frequent "critical food decayed emergency errors" have trained my brain to ignore all alerts. Which is how I end up not noticing the really important ones in time. Like: "can't reach bed" - which is an euphemism for "dupe is standing there staring at a bit of fallen snow/sand stupidly and will die in 10 seconds without immediate intervention". Also "plants have died!" looks so alerting for the first split second, it makes me forget what I'm currently building. WHAT, WHO DIED; WHY!?!?!? Oh... "plants".. huh.... uhm... why am I holding an air pump again? Since alert importance might be subjective / depending on play style and stage of the game, it would be very nice if we could adjust priorities or turn the annoying ones off. Zarquan Posted January 18, 2018 Share Posted January 18, 2018 I would love the idea of having levels and, even better deciding what alert belongs at which level! In my base, for example, food rotting would imply a disaster in my farm area that needs to be dealt with immediately, but if you use rotting mealwood as a source of polluted dirt to burn in to sand, then the Food Has Decayed message is horrible. In fact, I will admit that I only built one base that used rotting mealwood as a resource because I could not easily tell if my dupes are suffocating.
