Add an "open server" option

Hi,

Yesterday, i was playing with some people on a discord channel. Since we were 5 at the time, we created a public game, joined, and waited for someone else to complete our team. But it's not perfect. Because, for example, we can't be sure that the 5 slots will stay available since everyone is here. We can't be sure that someone else we know will say "hey, i'm here in 5 minutes, wait for me", but someone else will join, and there is no place left for a friend.

 

And since the event is better with 6 person (well, usually...), an open game when we aren't 6 is often better to find others people.

 

Kick wouldn't solve the problem, because it's rude to kick someone who did nothing wrong.

 

So my idea is :

 

An option to open a passworder server. When you open it (only the creator can do it), anyone could join without password. So you can start your server with password, wait for all your friend to join, then open it. And if someone come and say "i'm here in 2 min, pls wait for me", then you could "close" the server again (need password again to enter).

 

It could be useful for classic DST too i guess.

I would like to have such an Option too. I tried to play with a few friends (3, so a total of 4 players) and it was almost impossible to get on the same server.

BTW: In classic DST you have the option (at least on dedicated servers) to have the server reserve slots for whitelisted Players.

Yes, i know, it's useful but not exactly the same as opening the server, so both could be useful depending of situation.
