Could you add a ladder type item that can be placed on top of existing things that would normally be obstructed, so you can reach up to places for building in plumbing or electrical? This structure could have a super high decor hit making it so you would really only use it as scaffolding and then remove it asap. I find it quite tedious to remove all the paintings or machines so I can place a ladder just for being able to reach up to repair or place a blown circuit.
