Maps - Option to replay a map again

Recommended Posts

Occasionally I get a map that i think is cool and I play it some but then I get to a point where I'm losing or that frustrating loop of duplicants need something badly for many cycles to come which make it too frustrating to play anymore. So I would love the option to play that specific map again

I know these are random seeded maps so just wondering if that is possible.

Make a save of your map at cycle 1 and don't overwrite it. Load it to reset back to cycle 1.

The only way I know not to overwrite a save is to actually go into my files and save it into a different folder right? I am not too familiar with the games save mechanics but it seems it has a limited number of save files it will keep

You can use the Save As button too. But keep on mind that it will change the default name under which the game will be saved from that point on. So you can make a normal save, then Save As with name such as "my colony - pass 1" and then when you want to start again, load the original save and use Save As again to give it another name.

New cycle saves are stored permanently outside of the auto save folder and never overwritten unless you just click "Save" and accept the warning rather than "Save As" and entering a new file name.

Here's my folder structure after repeatedly hitting new game and exiting straight back out to main menu. Each being a unique map. You just gotta load em up.
