Steam Geyser Too much

Recommended Posts

Hello, This is more of a feedback and not so much an issue, I have never encountered a geyser before until yesterday and it is producing steam and water at what I feel is an insane rate, I have one pump pumping out all the polluted water I had in a slime biome and the geyser is leaking water into it, It is currently filling up and in about 10 cycles has produced around about 25 blocks of fresh water. Is this normal for a geyser?

The biggest concern for me is that I already have too much water and my ice cold base is slowly starting to turn into a Sauna. Can the geyser be sealed in a room or will the water pressure break the walls?

Weird, I find my steam geyser isn't producing enough water to meet my needs, and am tunneling down to another one that I've found. It did take a long time for the water to slowly decline, but it did. I do notice there's a lot of steam now though, so probably the increasing temperature is causing the water to turn into steam. Additionally, it's slowly heating up my base, so I've gone and found ice plants, named wheezeworts. They look like giant ice cubes and make an annoying wheezing sound, and they're in ice biomes. They literally eat heat, so I'm hoping they solve the problem.

Also, it sounds like the geyser is mixing in clean water, with polluted water, which you are trying to pump somewhere? I think you should work on separating the geyser from this polluted water, if you don't want that water to mix. Because it will keep making the water and steam forever. Geyser's do a lot in making a colony sustainable, but I can easily see how mis-handling a geyser could make it endlessly annoying.

Steam geyser water production rate is about 4 kg/s, that means about a tile every 4 minutes.

You can always stop the production if you enclose the geyser in a small room with walls thick enough to not break under the water pressure - the geyser will fill the room, then it will go over pressure and the production will stop.

Well it has completely filled the pit with clean water and has two pumps sucking it up at the moment which seems to be keeping it at bay, What temperature is scalding hot? The entire are around it is about 70C Degrees at the moment. So I do not know if they can seal the geyser without dying.

Woolyhats other than my 4 electrolyzers in my base and for emergencies where I need to make mush bars I dont use clean water at all, I had to divert all of i into a big pit and build some air scrubbers just to try and use it up, I have 16 showers which I am going to plumb in soon. Just started struggling with Electricity due to all of my pumps haha.
