I feel that I may have solved the number notch code (the square symbols).

Let's assume for a minute, that each of the 13 symbols corresponds with the numbers 1-13, each one representing its own number. If a notch in each side of the square symbol "adds" a new value to the resulting number (Sort of like Roman numerals), then you could, theoretically, reach every one of these numbers (1-13). I found that if you assume the top notch = +1, and then go around the square counterclockwise, increasing the value of a notch by 1, you can reach every number 1-13, except for 9... and there are two symbols that represent 6...

 

And so this seemed like a bust, but it worked so perfectly...

Looking closer, however, I discovered that one of the 6 squares could easily represent the number 9, if it was but turned 90 degrees to the left. Perhaps this is jumping to conclusions, but it does seem to fit the numbers we're looking for.

this wrong in my view, the number three (3) is complicated some reason, should be they only use one small strip on bottom

I hope you're on the right track...

I mean now we have to test every theorized symbol with every theorized number code, without any indication of which is the problem.
