You have to survive for X [difficulty] cycles after constructing it before your colonists are rescued. You also have to protect it - (so if it gets crushed or goes offline for too long, the whole process starts over) Klei games aren't synonymous with win conditions, but I'm sitting at cycle 90 with a personal goal of just surviving until cycle 100 and then calling it quits and starting over. (base is going to hell; CO2 everywhere; A Chlorine gas cloud that I swear has sentience and is out to get me has just taken up residence in my main living quarters) I thought it would be cool if that was a built in option at any point - instead of deciding to stick it out, eventually having the option of evacuating the site and saving all my dupes. You could even do a scoring system that gives bonus points to how big your colony was before it was evacuated. More dupes = harder upkeep; rewards players for taking good care of their dupes. Also: More dupes = longer play = there's kind of a poker/gambling strategy to it - (Do I try to evacuate now, and cash in on the dupes I still have alive, or do I wait and see if I can't make a base that will support more dupes and net me a higher score?) scientas Posted March 20, 2017 Share Posted March 20, 2017 I think it would be funny if the research was something crazy like 100 normal/100 intermediate, then when completed your dupe says "hmm", walks over the printing pad, and flips the switch on the side. Then the portal flashes just like when a dupe comes through but your dupe walks back into the light and disappears, followed by all your other dupes. Credits roll, but once finished you get the option to continue. If you select yes, you get a new world but start with all the dupes you had left alive when they exited.
