Copy / paste item configuration (storage containers, planter box, etc)

Recommended Posts

Suggestion

Allow us to copy / paste item configuration.

For instance, CTRL + Right-click to copy item configuration

CTRL + Left click to paste the configuration on another item.

Usage case

Copying configuration of a storage container onto another one.

Quickly paste the seed choice onto multiple new planter boxes,

Any item with configuration specific (even door) states and / or assignable priority could benefit from that.

Instead of copy pasting ... why not expand my named job system to support everything with lots of toggles!

Well, actually, with the approach suggested, you avoid even having to go in the UI since you can copy/paste configuration.

I come from Factorio with this, which has this system when you build something which have a specific configuration. It goes very fast without even having to popup the ui for this.

I am open to whatever they implement (if they do) to ease the current labor of repeating the same few clicks over and over to set common configuration.

In my mind, having presets (like you are suggesting) is not exclusive of copying the preset configuration over the new container (copy/paste). Both could actually work together...

ohh so thats what you meant ... yeah could be useful but might get confusing when you have a ton of buildings side by side and you end up opening up the UI.
