M29
Dupes should be able to better anticipate some of the common things and not go far away to perform a job, just to defer their jobs a few tiles before fulfilling their need. For instance, when one of the following occurence happens - Bed time - Full bladders - Lunch time They will cancel what they were about to do (ex: going to the dig site and dig a few ores) even though they made 80% of the road there !! They should either: - Not go to the dig site and perform the imminent need relief now (either sleep, eat or poop) - Go to the dig site, perform their job, then attend their need after. Edit : Current dupe behavior real life analogy - Dupe Me want to go to the groceries (35 minutes drive). - Dupe Me drive for 30 minutes. - Dupe Me have to pee - Dupe Me return home to pee without groceries - Dupe Me go to do groceries Logical dupe behavior real life analogy - Dupe Me want to go to the groceries (35 minutes drive). - Dupe Me feel he have to pee and even though bladder is not full, I know I won't make it to the groceries if I don't pee now. - Dupe Me go pee even though I could have waited 15 minutes before bladder full capacity (because not enough for my next task) - Dupe Me go to the grocery store. (Alternative would be to hold it in while I do the groceries but not pee on the floor either... that's gross and I have toilets at home) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/76288-ai-feedback-dupes-should-anticipate-bed-times-eating-time-better/ Share on other sites
scientas
Perhaps they could add a "Needs" checkbox to the jobs list. If you have it checked then it prioritizes the needs first so that they always go to bed on time or stop to eat. If you have it unchecked, it's almost like a red alert where it deprioritizes their needs, but not to the point that they would ignore them. Think of the check as a priority 9 and the uncheck as a priority 1. Red alert is a priority 0. This could allow the introduction of new dupe characteristics: Selfish - you can't check or uncheck the box, just like dupes that can't do art or cook. These dupes are the first in bed, first in line for food, and last in line to clean the toilet. Basically a permanent/check setting. Workaholic: same thing, but for a permanent 1/uncheck setting. These guys wait until the last minute to eat, are the last in bed, and first ones to run to clean the dirty toilet. Kasuha
Yeah I'd like that too. Plus they might do a check some time before bedtime so they visit the outhouse/lavatory and don't wake up to go there during night. Unless they have a disposition (small bladder?) or diarrhea, I guess nothing could be done about it in that case. ShamPeiN
i would like eating times to be controlled. hungry sleep interrupts them so that needs fixing. They should have on last 5% a new status like "awaiting food", this would limit their movement in a certain radius of mess tables. Or should be an option to send them poop/eat early between 90-95%. i dont get why 4k stomach, 1k rations and only eat at 2k. one thing more: the cook should split food into equal ratios before eating and carry it to mess tables. Absolutely. I think that higher cook stats should not only make cooks faster, but more efficient with the food. Like someone with a 12 cooking stat would waste less material than someone with a 1 stat so you might get an extra mush bar or two out of the material load. Also their food could also have a stress relief effect since the dupes are eating higher quality mush. ShamPeiN
Well some chance to be good/bad/extra food like 5-15% based on level. Dupes could drop away some bad taste food. some training maybe, a cook could make desserts- train skill, small boosts/debuffs to health, stress, stamina.
