Aronthaer Posted March 6, 2017 Share Posted March 6, 2017 I'm interested in making a grass gekko farm, but I'm not entirely sure how far the grass gekkos need to be moved to achieve the desired effect (not preventing more gekkodudes from spawning.) The wiki says 20 tiles, but the code seems to suggest 10. does anyone know? EuedeAdodooedoe Posted March 7, 2017 Share Posted March 7, 2017 They don't actually have to be far! They could be in another pen right next to your grass farm! I had a one set of gekkos spawned by a player on a server through harvesting grass. After a few days, I harvested grass myself and while the other gekkos were in the second pen, the first pen spawned more in for me. Then, while both sets of these gekkos were in the second pen, while some other player was harvesting grass, I saw they had spawned in another set of gekkos by doing so. I don't have any images or footage to present, but you could probably test this yourself with enough grass tufts and walls or fence material on hand. I swear though, if only the lazy forager was possible to refuel via nightmare fuel, grass farming late-game would be a breeze. Then again, I'm at a point where I don't even need to hold onto essential resources myself at all now and honestly, I'm surviving well and pretty neatly. More grass for tooth traps, log suits and football helmets instead of torches and campfires, I guess.
