The duplicants have a height of 2 with a 2 tile range when digging straight up, so in order to make tiles a distance of 5 blocks away, you need to make a platform to reach it. If anything, it's just a quality of life improvement for base building, doesn't much buff digging speed or anything. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
