Arsenal221
I have been at it for three days now and this is getting very frustrating. I have been working on a server with this tutorial, but keep getting the same error message (near the bottom): [00:00:00]: System Memory: Memory Load: 50% Available Physical Memory: 2003m/4046m Available Page File: 2998m/5996m Available Virtual Memory: 3998m/4095m Available Extended Virtual Memory: 0m [00:00:00]: Process Memory: Peak Working Set Size: 10m Working Set Size: 10m Quota Peak Page Pool Usage: 179k Quota Page Pool Usage: 179k Quota Peak Non Paged Pool Usage:14k Quota Non Paged Pool Usage: 13k Page File Usage: 3m Peak Page File Usage: 3m [00:00:00]: PersistRootStorage is now APP:Klei//DoNotStarveTogether/MyDediServer/Caves/ [00:00:00]: Starting Up [00:00:00]: Version: 203787 [00:00:00]: Current time: Thu Feb 02 17:38:18 2017 [00:00:00]: Don't Starve Together: 203787 WIN32 [00:00:00]: Build Date: 1796 [00:00:00]: Parsing command line [00:00:00]: Command Line Arguments: -console -cluster MyDediServer -shard Caves [00:00:00]: [WARNING] -console has been deprecated: Use the [MISC] / console_enabled setting instead. Residays
If "Socket port already in use" means what I think it is, try to use another port. The launch parameter is -port [number] I think. (Without the [ ]). Feel free to post here again if anything else happens.
Chillaxin
I have the exact same issue. I did port forwarding and confirmed that port 10999 is open and available.

Have you tried to restart your computer and modem, or use another port?
Chillaxin
Yes, I've restarted my computer. I even bought a brand new router trying to get this to work. I love DST. It's a shame that they made creating dedicated servers so insanely complicated.
Chillaxin
I have not tried using another port. I don't know how. I've been trying to make a default server just like the guide.

Try to use the launch parameter in your dedicated server -port [number] (Without the [ ]) Example: -port 1234 I'd suggest trying at least 3 different ports, by the way, you should use the edit button. Chillaxin
Where do i type that? in the .bat file? in the cluster.ini? server.ini? somewhere through steam?
Chillaxin
"Could not confirm port 1234 is open in the fireawall." I'll try some other random numbers i guess.
Chillaxin
I've tried several combinations of numbers. They either say the socket port is already in use or it can't find an open port between 27016 and 27016 I keep trying diferent numbers but the 27016 keeps popping up. Either allow the ports to go trough the firewall of your computer and modem, or disable the firewall for both. Although I'd hope you have at least a good anti-virus for the second option. Firewalls block incoming connections unless they are allowed to, that could be the issue.
Chillaxin
Yeah, I've already disabled the firewalls then running the bat and got the same errors. Since I got no results, I renabled the firewalls. I made sure to add exceptions for port 10999 in the firewall settings but still no luck. Lots of friends on different machines having the same problems and gave up solving this months ago.

It will let you see what ports are in use. Type: netstat -a -b Hit enter. Check by yourself the ports that are in use in this same window, and use one that isn't being used. If you don't know how to start CMD, just search for it as you would with any other file, and then just start it.
Chillaxin
Yeah, I've tried using many different ports listed in the netstat as well. No luck there but I did finally get a server up and running today using the method in this thread:
