Quyzbuk
This is directed at Klei or someone who's thoroughly looked over the coding, I was curious - Just how hardcoded were the special day cycles and such for the adventure mode scenarios in DS? Are they tied directly into specific things or could they be copy + pasted elsewhere without any problems? I ask because I was thinking about presets when I was pondering settings for a new world generation and thought that it'd be really cool to be able to bring in those special patterns found in scenarios like "The King of Winter, The Game is Afoot!", etc etc. Currently we only have the 3 (4 technically, I don't count "No Giants Here"), and they don't really affect much outside of what starter supplies you get (Plus & Light's Out), and what tier the spider dens start at (Plus). Seeing any of those presets being used is about as rare as seeing someone use one of the non-default settings for the day cycle, which is to say, almost never. Now to be clear, this is NOT a request for DST adventure mode things, we're getting steady content updates and there's a lot of nice stuff being introduced. This particular curiosity is squarely aimed at specialized day cycles found in the scenarios from the original DS RoG. If it is as simple as copy + pasting (with the exception of the "Two Worlds" scenario, I imagine that particular one really is hardcoded), I think it would be a welcome addition to everyone here that wouldn't require much effort to bring over. Heck, it'd be really nice to see some Klei-made challenge presets in general, especially if it would update existing ones like Light's Out, a mode I'm sure almost all of us who come to these forums would agree - should be more popular. I hope it is something worth looking in to, some additional unique options is always welcome in my opinion.
