I can't spell it out for you any clearer.  You are derailing this thread with your bs "intended play mode."   You ignore all evidence that proves that and continue on with your bs trumped up evidence pointing to "well this is how everyone IS playing it so thats how its supposed to be played."  No its not!  Read the initial launch screen:  An uncompromising wilderness survival experience.  SURVIVAL YO.  Survival implies LONG TERM.  I can't spell it out any clearer for you.  Stop posting your argument and derailing my thread.  I don't care what some noob "thinks" how the game should be played.  Im informing Klei, you know the people that make the game, "hey this thing is a little broken you may want to retune it.  I've been doing that since the original single player beta and its helpful and constructive.  They may listen they may not but THEY want to hear what WE think.  If you want to make a thread about what YOU think the intended game experience is GO MAKE YOUR OWN THREAD, but stop derailing mine.
