Problem with Custom Character Inventory Slots

Hello!

So, I am having a custom DST character created for me and we have come to an interesting problem.

The character has a hat that will be a separate item that will be in the inventory upon spawn.

However, we came to an issue where when the hat is in the inventory, the slots show no item.. It is invisible. Then, when you equip the hat itself, it shows the equipping animation but again shows no hat in the "hat slot" of the inventory bar. 

Any suggestions on what's going on would be greatly appreciated! This is a vague description so also ask any questions you have.

So what you're saying is that only its inventory icon isn't working? You sure you created assets for that? and properly called them in code?
