Transferring server / save game from Windows 10 to Linux Mint / KDE Plasma

Recommended Posts

Sorry if this question has been asked before, but I did a quick search and was unable to turn up any worthwhile results.

Is it possible to transfer a server / saved game used on Windows 10 to a Linux based system?

I have binned Windows 10 as it's a horrible OS and switched to a KDE Plasma / Mint OS. I'd rather not have to go back to using Windows ever again, but the one thing I'd like to retain is my Don't Starve Together games.

I've got the saved games from Windows on a backup disk. I've transferred them to another Windows based PC purely for test purposes and they work fine there. But when I go browsing through my files on the Dolphin file manager I'm not even quite sure where the Don't Starve Together game files are saved on the Linux OS.

Can anybody provide some pointers? I was playing DST through Steam on Windows and I'll be playing it through Steam on my Linux OS too.

Windows and Linux have vastly different constructions if you catch my drift. I'm afraid it won't be possible. The versions of the game 99% have difference in how they're made and that implies you'll either have to remain on W10 (which isn't bad after you work with it from the more tech-savvy standpoint, actually) or start from scratch on Linux.

Copy everything from (My) Documents\Klei\DoNotStarveTogether to ~/.klei/DoNotStarveTogether and you should be good to go (use the folder DoNotStarveTogetherANewReignBeta instead if you're in the beta). In Dolphin, press Alt+. to show or hide hidden files and directories.
