Stop playing on unattended public servers. Just stop.

If you don't want to be given instructions then why make a post instructing people to not do something? That's kind of hypocritical.

I'm completely confused. I didn't write that above post and at no point have I instructed anyone to do anything. My posts have been in reply to that actual comment - I did not create this thread, I was responding to it as someone who plays on public forums. Whenever I have written about my current experience of griefing (which was the user vote kicking off the public servers and regenerating the world and of which there has been a lot written about in the forums recently) I am told I should have been doing such and such.

Whoops. I was under the impression about all the times you've replied to people that you were the OP, sorry about that. Yeah, that happens, I talked about personal experiences about Willow griefers and people took it as a personal attack at Willow Users.

Either way, I'm pretty sure 1 person coming on, destroying a world and leaving wasn't the intent of the vote-kick system. It's basically an exploit that needs fixing.
Other than that, we really need some more basic vanilla ways of enforcing play styles. Or at least encouraging them. If I join a Cooperative server, I'm kind of expecting people to cooperate and not say split into factions and torch/raid eachother. Public servers might not be in an optimal position for that now, but there's nothing to say that that can't change.
There is, of course, a difference between nerfing characters and making them unable to directly light buildings on fire. Nerfs aren't the answer, but there're plenty of other places to start.

Agree! Woot!

The unfortunate truth is that Klei is simply too busy to deal with player-drama on their servers, so they let the players themselves deal with the issue which of course that situation speaks for itself.

So complaining about it won't do you any good, same for those of you who are complaining ABOUT complainers.

If you can't handle players joining your server and burning your base down, then maybe you should base somewhere where griefers couldn't find you. I always base somewhere deep in caves, and griefers usually never go down there anyways because they often die.
