PearlFey
Hey guys!! My girlfriend and I had a dedicated server on DST that we played on a few times a week that was on year 4 and completely developed, and I hosted it on my computer. However, my motherboard recently fried itself, and i had to get it completely replaced, which resulted in all the data on my computer being deleted. I had it backed up, but I've been unable to find a file containing DST servers, does anyone know where that would be hidden? or if there's any other way I could restore this server? thanks :0 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/70132-help-how-to-restore-a-server/ Share on other sites
TemporaryMan
If I had to wager a guess? If you're using Windows, the default path for your chat logs, morgue, server settings, and saves should be something like C:\Users\<your_user_account>\Documents\Klei\DoNotStarveTogether\ You'll want to restore the entire folder because it's really not as simple as a single save file: there's older saves for rollback, there's server and client configuration in there, world settings are separate from the save, mod settings too, etc. Just restore the whole folder from the backup and you should be fine. I'm sure there's some server admins around with more knowledge and experience than me, though. Arlesienne
The server data resides in Cluster_X where X is the save slot. You may want your Save or Client_Save restored too. The thing is, even though DST runs on Steam and syncs (some) mod settings if you give it more time and are lucky, it doesn't sync saves. The advantage is the ability to have more servers (and enjoy both the live and the beta branches - in my case, one computer runs on ANR and the other does not in order to test Multi-Worlds DST). The downside - only manual save migration. Oh, and if you edit the LUA, you need to move the relevant files as well.
