Anyone have Chester following to SW?

Recommended Posts

I jumped from ROG to SW a while back and noticed chester was with me (I 100% didn't carry the bone with me) so I said, well cool, I will keep him. He followed the SW fish bone (I always leave packim at the sea worthy) so I get sick of having two of them, it is a burden really more than a benefit. I go back to ROG for a couple seasons, planning to kill chester when I returned and when I returned (I had left packim on another island at my base this time) to my base I have packim, chester and another chester. I have ice chester in ROG so both my SW versions are ice chesters also. I have never had this happen, this game is fairly old its just over day 1k now and I would guess the first chester popped up around day 875-900. So now I am going to keep him to see how many pile up and if they quit I will just kill them, but kind of odd that it randomly has started spawning me chesters.

Note  - I had jumped between ROG and SW once in between for a very brief period of time and a chester didn't spawn but I popped in and popped out of SW to grab something and check the season. So 2/3 trips have spawned me a chester in SW)

I can get a screen shot later, didn't feel it was really that important to visually see it, but all 3 follow the fish bone so if I want packim I get 3 following me

Oh, and chesters will travel across the water, you lose them then they respawn close to you once you get far enough away (I have coffee at all times so idk if you have to be going that fast for them to jump onto the water at any point, but they can travel to 100% of the map - well I guess if  an island is extremely small they might not be able to touch those islands but essentially 100% of the map)

2nd edit, after just opening the new one, the new chester (only the new one) has had exactly identical contents to the ROG chester- however, this one has all the contents at the point and time that I exited the caves and ruins so he has a guardian horn and jerky thulecite etc etc in him. So if this keeps happening I could use it as a cheesy exploit but I have excess of everything at this point anyways.

Only other info I could add is I started this world while it was still early access if I am not mistaken, I have had it for quite some time I just got bored of playing and left it for a few months and have been dabbling with it a little lately.  Maybe this goes into the bugs section, but I couldn't find a single hit on this when I searched google so wanted to know if anyone has had this happen.

I can say that this has happened to me, and I took a screenshot to prove it. The strange thing is that it can be a really good exploit because of the fact that the Chester that duplicates in the SW world (In my case, anyways.) carries an exact set of the items that was put into him in my RoG world before I used the Seaworthy. It happens randomly and when I travel in my SW world far enough with the Fishbone so that only Packim can follow, the two Chesters that I have go rogue and can't figure out what to do with themselves. Putting them out of there misery seems to be the only course of action, though...

One of my chesters has glitched, he literally has the same action as a bunnyman or a pig/bore. Just pacing around in random directions out on the water.

Yea if you know its going to happen when you jump you can exploit it obviously, but by the time you are jumping around in the game you probably don't need to duplicate much for any reason other than to save time but whatever..

Put this into the Klei Bug Tracker. It will help them in knowing what they need to fix.
