E_UNKNOWN_STEAMID

The "E_Unknown_SteamID" error message is showing up because a Don't Starve Together account has not been created with your Steam ID. You will need to create an account first in order to be able to play.

If you had already created an DST account previously, please ensure that you are logged into the same Steam account that you had used when registering for a Don't Starve Together account originally.

Indeed you are not able to connect - please follow the troubleshooting steps below:

- Exit the game, then delete your mod files and unsubscribe all of your mods from the Steam Workshop,

- Ensure that your firewall, anti-virus, security software or security settings have been made to allow Don’t Starve Together to connect online. (See our troubleshooting guide above for more information.)

- Ensure that you are running the game using a Windows User Account with proper administrative permissions: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14028/windows-7-how-log-on-as-an-administrator 

- Connect to the internet via an Ethernet cable, and using Wi-Fi; this is to to ensure that you are less likely to run into network interference or intermittent connections.
