Not resurrected even with activated touch stone and meat effigy

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I'm a bit frustrated, because I had a quite advanced game (at least for me), at day 45, survived winter and started to craft interesting things... But then I got killed (in a cave), and did not resurrect (the game showed the popup with the experience bar and only proposed "main menu" or "retry" options), even though I activated a touch stone AND built a meat effigy. I also crafted a life giving amulet, but I wasn't wearing it at the time of death (it was left on the ground at my base on the surface).

Am I missing something, or is this a bug? I'd like to understand what went wrong before attempting a new world...

Hi @Youen, welcome to the forums. If you're one hundred percent sure that you have an active touchstone plus a built and placed Meat Effigy but still didn't get revived, the only logical reason I can think of for this to happen is through mods. So did you have any mods active then? If yes, I'd suggest you check out the comments of each of the mods you were using and see if anyone else experienced the same thing.

Good luck, cheers.

Hello,

Thanks for the answers.

I am 100% sure I had a touch stone and a meat effigy.

I don't own shipwrecked, so it can't be installed.

Aside from that, I only have one mod, which adds a backpack slot and an amulet slot to the inventory. There are reports of game crashes (which I didn't experience), but I've seen nothing about resurrection issues related to this mod.

Would be great if don't starve kept a savegame before death, even if hidden and only for debug purposes...

EDIT: OK, talked too fast. There is a report of resurrection issue from caves near the end of the thread. Dammit, that's a tough bug. I'll make a test to verify if the mod really is the cause for this. Is there a log of lua errors somewhere?

Thanks :)

Unfortunately, that means the relevant session log is lost by now.

I have confirmed the bug comes from that mod though (just tested with the debug console to quickly reproduce the problematic situation, and reproduced the bug ; and comparing the mod code to the game resurrection code shows a part is missing to locate "external" resurrectors). More details to follow on the mod thread.
