AniMike
I'm saying that players who are not holding the Eye bone or the Flower shouldn't be allowed to open Chester or kill Glommer, I have had plenty of incidences were trolling players would come by me and take stuff from my chester or while I'm resting by my warm fire to gain sanity near Glommer, come over and kill it and out comes a krampus. Here is my idea on how to solve this: Whoever is holding the item can do whatever they want to their Glommer/Chester, but, if the object ( Flower/ Eye bone) is dropped then anybody can hurt/ loot the Glommer/Chester. So if you do want to let people who are actually not trolls get stuff out of chester, you can drop the bone and let them and Glommer wouldn't get attacked by others but you, unless you drop the Flower so that everyone can kill it. In Pvp mode you can just leave it how it currently is because it's all about killing each other in pvp. This idea is just to prevent less trolling, because it's getting ridiculous in the servers I join. The Letter W
the eyebone is also a key of sorts, that's interesting. maybe you could even make ones that just allow access but don't have chester follow. one of the requirements would be having the eyebone in your inventory so not just anyone could make one. ScootyPuffJr
These sound like ideas that would probably be more appropriate to mods, since they would be a safeguard against trolling but they'd also introduce an annoying roadblock for people that are actually cooperating. I wouldn't want to have to carry around an extra item in order to be able to access a friend's Chester, that's a huge disadvantage. And then what happens when I don't need to access it any more and leave the key somewhere so I can carry something more useful/valuable? Would that open up Chester for any random person that finds the key? On a similar note, if someone picks up your Glommer flower, then you have no recourse, especially if you were planning on killing it at some point to summon Krampus. Do you want to really have to carry around the flower at all times to keep it safe? SeventhRat
These are good ideas, so I implemented them in my mod here http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=669491560 I can't guarantee it works yet. I'll see if I can get one of my Steam friends to test it with me. If someone has a chance to set up a test game and (try to) kill another player's Glommer or Chester and loot from Chester, I'd appreciate the feedback. Done. It seems to work well at least in a hosted game.
