Exclusive Biomes/Starting Gear

I was just thinking, wouldn't it be cool if we had more control over our world generation, so we could have really specific worlds made for specific things, be it messing around, challenges, etc? A prime example of what I mean is, what if we could generate worlds that matched some of the more-specific Adventure Mode worlds. Such as 'Two Worlds', 'Archipelago' and of course the Epilogue 'Checkmate'? (Minus the Throne and Maxwell of course!) Sure, some of these worlds would be neigh-on-impossible to survive in, but it'd be great fun to mix up the gameplay a bit.

An example could be a survival Two Worlds server, noob-friendly with danger lurking just through a wormhole. Perhaps a Wilderness PVP server running 'Checkmate' Where resources are slim and it's a survival of the fittest.

The latter example gave me a companion suggestion too, what if we could select a starting inventory for players? So for example we could have everyone start with plenty of food and resources to craft a hefty number of weapons and armour, science machine included. Perhaps set up perks, maybe everyone has access to all recipes immediately? This would work really well with a Wilderness PVP 'Checkmate' level, forcing players to fight one another in order to survive.


I really think this level of customization could make 'gamemode' servers flourish, ones where the goal is to survive the most days in a very hostile environment, or to simply play Don't Starve Together with an usual map. The current world gen options offer so much variety, but why not add to it?

(P.S. I'm aware some mods likely do what I'm suggesting already, but I'd love to see it in the base DST. Also, I apologise if this has been posted elsewhere, I wasn't able to find any mention of it when searching the forums. Thanks for reading! ^-^)

I think it could work indeed. One thing though: there are many mods that add custom starting inventory on top of the vanilla items like Wigfrid's gear, so I suppose it won't be implemented any soon.
