How do you tame Beefalo?

Can someone please explain how to tame a beefalo to make it pudgy? or send me a link to how to just tame one in general? thanks.

I think you feed until it poops.

And then feed it until it poops again.

Ratatouille made of things not too worth keeping for other recipes is perfect for taming beefalos. You can use red caps, ice and twigs to make it. Grass and twigs per se take a long time to domesticate a beefalo. Even one ratatouille can cause your beefie to follow you around on its quest for more crockpot food. I have not tried recipes with meat though. I wonder if you can get rid of unwanted food this way. Normally when a player happens to prepare monster lasagna or wet goop, I dump it in traps or pigs. But beefies could possibly work too.

Also, if you are going to build a pen for it without intending to ride it in battle, stone walls of the basic thickness plus the mod More Actions to jump inside are a perfect choice.

My preference is a combination of unwanted food from the crockpot and the brush. Plus the saddle when going for a riding beefie. Though pudgy is the cutest... Dragopies seem a bit of a waste to me given how you need to either feed a bird in a cage at least one for specific seeds or plant the default ones and hope for a dragonfruit. But you may have a different situation. You want to feed it 300 hunger a day at most. Grass and twigs are fairly inefficient (though the latter seem to have an equal value of berries to a beefalo). I would suggest using food starting to turn as beefalo fodder too. And definitely visit the thread here:
