sparky4
i have an insane (it is insane as in it keeps breaking! wwww) set up that uses Cluster_4 of non dedicated server slot and i run a dedicated server from that slot I have major issues with the non-dedicated server graphical front end breaking my dedicated server setup (specifically getting the cave server to link with master) i wish there was a button that just updates the config and mod settings on a server I found a quick and dirty way to fix it copy a backed up dedicated server cluster that you use over the non dedicated server cluster This fails horribly for the added or removed mods to be implemented because the old setting will be writing over the new one Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/66696-dedicated-server-graphical-management/ Share on other sites
Developer Ipsquiggle Posted May 24, 2016 Developer Share Posted May 24, 2016 Just to be clear, your setup is something like this: Slot 4 in the graphical frontend shows some kind of server (perhaps single level, perhaps multilevel?), but this no longer reflects the server info in Cluster_4, which has been put there by a dedicated server. So if you ever modify/launch the server from the graphical frontend, it overwrites settings that the dedicated server had been using? Or in short, you want to be able to run a dedicated server out of the Cluster_4 folder, but make changes to its config via slot 4 in the graphical front-end? I'm not promising any solution at this point, but I'd like to understand it so I can put it on the list. Also I'm curious, just in case there's a larger problem we can solve: Are you also running a client on that same machine to connect to that dedicated server, or do you just want to use the client to configure the dedicated server, but then only run the server from that machine?
