Walani's Sanity Modifier on a Custom Character

Hey all, so I've been trying to apply Walani's Sanity modifier OR something like it to a custom character (Ellie from the Last of Us for anyone interested) but have been having very little luck in the matter.

As far as I can tell it's this line -inst.components.sanity:AddRateModifier("walani", TUNING.WALANI_SANITY_RATE_MODIFIER)- that seems to be the one I'm looking for but my attempts to integrate it have only resulted in crashes or unresponsive menus. I've tried just putting it in, replacing the name in the quotes, getting rid of the quotes altogether, doing the = 1 * TUNING-blah blah; and yet all end in failure.

Now I know how to reduce the sanity loss on certain things like nights or monsters but I enjoy that Walani's is not only universal but ALSO reduces sanity Recovery by the same rate- an advantage and disadvantage in one perk with a good bit of flavor potential. So if anyone knows how to implement her modifier OR how to implemet the same thing with more newbie friendly scripting (like to good old inst.components.sanity.night_drain_mult = 0.75 for example, just universal and the reverse) I would greatly appreciate it.

 

On a secondary note- One of the things Ellie is known for is her swearing, but the original uncensored version of the mod was banned from the workshop for the language (At least I assume that was the reason, the workshop's customer service is absolute crap for that kind of stuff). I'm having trouble finding the limitations of such thing here on the Klei site on whether I'd be allow to post it here for those would and have requested the more "M-rated" language they expect from the character. I see that using such language in the forums themselves is frowned upon but I can't find anything about the mods themselves... If not then does anyone know where I could make it available for them? As far as I know, this line is strictly ShipWrecked-specific. There is a character Whandler who has a similiar perk but in RoG, maybe you could "borrow" some code.

Well I do have shipwrecked so I should have access to the code, unless you mean it's Walani specific only and CAN'T work like most of the other character tuning modifiers. As for the link but I was actually trying for her passive sanity modifier, the one that effects generally everything - not just the wetness/rain one and that seems to be all Whandler has pertaining to sanity. Thanks though, I do appreciate the response.

Anyone else have any ideas?
