I want to know how to program/code a custom item I've added, a pencil, to be able to interact with papyrus, to be limited (starts off at 100% and goes down by 10% after each use), adding +10 sanity per use, and to make it a craftable item (recipe : 2 twigs and 1 charcoal). I've been scouting around for a solution to this, but my efforts were in vain. I've already created the art for it in-game, but all my character can do is to drop it and inspect it. Please help.

There are a few handy guides in the tutorials and guides part of the forum. They can help you to understand the basic ideas once you look at them for a while. The thing that has helped me the most is reading the code for other items in the game. This takes some time, but has helped me understand how to change the way the game works more than anything else has. 

Beyond that, you mention you can drop it and insect it, what work do you already have done? Some code must exist to make the pencil show up in the game. Lets start with what you have and maybe you are closer to what you want than you think you are.

@HatefulGravey I've already tried that. Nothing really seemed to have the function I needed. I'm literally 90% to completing this thing. If you want my data for my mod, could you like, tell me how I could do it? Still somewhat new to this place.

@HatefulGravey Yeah, it's messed up for me too. The forums have gone through a few changes, it probably messed up the formatting.

 

Your objective is kind of complex. Try looking into actions, and adding one for your pencil. Also, check this mod out.

@Arkathorn Thank you! I had only found so little in the mod, sadly, but I appreciate it though. I had just downloaded the mod for the time being, though I feel not all functions will be of use for MY prefab. Again, thank you so much.
