Repairing burned or damaged structures; Stopping fire without magic; Giving structures more health

Recommended Posts

1. Since burning (and killing) is so easy in this game - maybe the destroyed structures can be repaired like the killed people can be resurrected.

Example: You can repair a burned pig house with 2 boards or cut stones. As long the house still stands you won't need to use the primary resource of the building to repair it like pig skins for pig houses or electrical doodad for alchemy engines.

2. Another thing is to make it possible to extinguish fire with something like buckets with water or not burnable carpets. Maybe there can be an equipment for a firefighter having some fuel as water and has range attack - another equipment can be for a pyromancer.

3. Structures can be destroyed a little bit too fast. I think most people won't have a pain, if structures has double or three times more health. Only grievers would now say something against it.

These points can make the PvP gameplay more fun for everyone since attacking bases will become more difficult.

Hmmm... Yeah, it would be cool if Willow had some kind of a firefighting perk, other than a measly fire resist.  Maybe be able to 'suck up' fires to refuel her lighter, or upgrade it?  This could make her redeemable in pubs; players wouldn't see the person who decided to play Willow as an enemy until she did something, possibly seeing her as a greif-defender (which most Willow players would be).

In her current build, she's a tad underpowered; going insane causes instant freezing on top of nightmare attacks (although Bernie can distract nightmares), so sanity must be managed nightly by hugging the fire, and nightmare fuel farming is almost completely out for her.  Sure, she can cook with her lighter, but you're likely to ditch that for a lantern rather quickly, and it's a pretty small perk to begin with.  She's a tad stronger than most characters in early game (Wickkerbottom and Wigfrid are notable exceptions), and weaker than all characters in late game.  Giving her perks to control fire would make her more playable to anyone other than terrible greifers who don't know how to craft a torch.

Water balloons.  1 mosquito sack dipped in a pond, or 2 mosquito sacks + 2 ice (science machine).  Just send somebody to whack mosquitoes, collect tentacle drops and reeds, ect. in the swamp for a couple days, or do it yourself.  You can get 2 stacks of balloons fairly easily, although it takes a bit of commitment.

I don't really play a lot of PvP, but I agree that attacking a base should be more difficult.  In PvP servers with large factions, the base could always be defended, but if the base has 1 to 3 people in it, it's likely to be empty and ripe for the sacking at many times, making it less fun for pretty much everyone.

This I like! But there should be also something that every character can also create. Maybe a tool like the one from ghost busters, to suck nightmares and fire :-)

I mean Wickerbottom has its sleepy times, but everyone can also craft sleep darts....

I agree. Before Klei balances the base raiding, they can overhaul the PvP in general. Maybe some thoughts at this point:

Wickerbottom: Sleepy times is very easy to create once crafted the first time. And it is very easy to use. The asleeped characters will stay drowned - no matter how often they got hit.

Solution: The drowniness and sleepines will be decreased on every hit the character gets. On the 3rd or 4th hit, the asleeped character should awake and being able to run at normal speed. Nightmare fuel is too easy to aquire - maybe a 3rd item should be inserted as recipe requirement like stings (like for sleep darts ....)

I can currently only counter the sleepytimes with a boomerang: When it hits wickerbottom before casting the spell -> great! When I already fall asleep the boomerang returns and hits me - so I get awake.

Wolfgang: When he is on mighty - you don't ve a chance on equall amount of weapon dmg and armor value -> just run until he gets more hungry, then you can start to fight him. Sleep darts are a good way to reduce his movement on the first minutes.

I agree. The current willow isn't very strong, and is typically seen as the 'griefer' go to character along with webber. However, a spider egg planted in your base isnt the hardest thing to take out, most characters can solo it with ease. However, having your entire base burned down, especially at a crucial moment, is absolutely crushing, in all gamemodes. Theres nothing you can do about it either, just rebuild everything that burned. Willows lighter and bernie, as said before, are rather easy to outclass and are generally useless. Maybe instead of bernie, an anti-freezing item that is like a slightly lower tier thermal stone, except its heat stays constant and it degrades slowly.
