DST finding groups and etiquette

Recommended Posts

Hey there, Im a bit of a lurker and new poster, so apologies if this is not the right area for posting.

Basically, I bought DS ROG and DST, but decided to focus on DS and ROG before playing DST, I've notched up a fair few hours and now want to try my hand ad DST... but Im getting pretty disillusioned and wondered if someone could steer me in the right direction?

I have posted on the steam forum, with little to no response re: joining a group.  I also assumed that those groups that were not password protected were open to all.. especially with the intro of 'welcome' and 'fun' only to be kicked off the second I joined.

Am I missing something?  I then try the Klei, 'Recruit new players' forum link to see that it requires an additional password :/

Im feeling pretty frustrated here, would love to just join a group and have some DST fun, surely it should not be this difficult.

If anyone has an opening, please let me know, as currently trying to play DST is more difficult than finding gold in DS shipwrecked!

Come here senpai.

As long as you aren't going to play as anyone who is taken (Currently: Wilson, Wendy, Wickerbottom, and Webber). Send me a friend request ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) http://steamcommunity.com/id/Christopah

If you want to play DST, you have two options: either join or make a long-term game, or play on public servers. I assume you want the former: try checking the 'server bulletin' subforum here, or the steam forums. Most of the time, you won't be able to join a long-term game just through the in game server browser, so just ask around on the forums and try to organize with some people who are geographically close to you and/or play at the same times of day.
