Hey guys. I use the Living Log Club mod, my Don't Starve is through steam therefore the mod is downloaded through the Workshop. I decided to edit the recipe cost and lower the damage in the mod files.

My questions aren't with how to do it, I've already done it,

I was just wondering, since I'm subscribed to the mod, would Steam overwrite my changes automatically?

I know if there's an update to the mod it probably will overwrite my changes which is fine, but as long as there is no update, will my changes remain untouched?

Well, you'll probably have to create a separate file with the changes, @MigiTheApex.

What I usually do, is copy and paste the mod file, do my changes and then change the modinfo's information for me to know which mod is which. This way, Steam won't override your changes :)

I did this, and it crashes on trying to load my save. This happens on different saves including characters who do not have/have never crafted the weapon. It happens with the original mod disabled or enabled at the same time (I tried this for testing purposes).

At this moment, Steam doesn't seem to be overwriting my changes to the original mod files, so I'll use those until a solution can be found.

Huh, weird, that usually doesn't happen with me, and when it does, I was the one that caused the crash myself, with somathing wrong I wrote in the code...

Well, as long as it's working, it's fine! :p

Yeah I'm not ruling out that I could've messed something up, but the only thing I editted after the copy was the description and title. It loaded once, then not again. I suppose I did edit it again after that and changed the title, perhaps I deleted a quotation mark or something somewhere that screwed it up. Anyways thank you for your help. :)
