Zillvr Posted January 20, 2016 Share Posted January 20, 2016 It can always be found inside the Merm's Poison Biomes, the one with Merm Houses and Tidal pools along with the Flups. If you find an island with those, explore its spaces. You'll eventually find the new chester there. Good luck, cheers. TheDwemerEquation Posted January 20, 2016 Share Posted January 20, 2016 The new chester always seems to spawn on the jungle biome next to the water...unlike chester I've never found him in a swamp. If you sail completely around islands when you're exploring you'll find his trinket eventually. I assumed they made him that way on purpose just to make him easier to find, considering the large amount of exploration you need to do. rezecib Posted January 21, 2016 Share Posted January 21, 2016 Unfortunately there's not much of a pattern to his placement. The list of places he can spawn is kind of huge. To be honest, it's easier to enumerate the places it can't spawn: For beaches, he can't spawn in any of the starting island beaches. The rest are fair game. For jungles, none of the starting island ones. Also doesn't spawn in JungleSpiderCity or SW_Graveyard (this one should have 4-8 graves, not sure it actually spawns). For magma, he can only spawn on about half of them. He can spawn on MagmaSpiders, but not on MagmaTallbird or MagmaForest, which are the most obvious ones. Apparently most of the mangrove ones are tagged, but I think they might get rejected because they're water? Not sure. Never seen him in mangrove myself. For meadow, the only one he can't spawn in is the mandrake one, which I don't think can spawn anymore now that IslandParadise got removed. I most often find him in meadow, perhaps because there are so few distractions there? It's a clean biome. For marsh, he can spawn in any of the three (Toxic, Merm (lots of them), and Normal (fewer merms)). As for where within these he spawns, I have most often found him in the middle of meadow biomes, just barely visible from shore, never closer, apart from one time I found him on the edge of a marsh.
