Bottled Light and Trawler net bug

Just died to a bad light bug. 

 

Setup:  Armored Boat, with a sail equipped.  Set sail just after darkness fell, with a bottle lantern held in hands.  Starving with about 20 Hunger left.  Sanity and Health were full. 

 

1. While at sea (shallow), I equipped a trawler net. 

 

2. The trawler net replaced the bottle lantern (despite it being held in my hands) and darkness fell. 

 

3.  I immediately equipped the bottle lantern again, which caused the trawler net to detach and become a waste of resources (despite the fact that it should have been equipped to the boat). 

 

4.  When I attempted to sail away the bottle lantern unequipped and I fell to darkness. 

 

5.  I immediately re-equipped the bottle lantern, then attempted to sail, but the bottle lantern became detached, plunging me into darkness. 

 

6.  Equipped, sailed, unequipped light, darkness, equipped... you get the picture.  Died to Darkness Monster. 

 

Played as Walani.  I should add that the sail, while in my inventory, did not reattach to the boat.

When you equipped the trawl net it switched out your sail which means your character is then rowing to move around, when you're rowing your not holding the bottle lantern any more(if you remain stationary your character will get it back out though). If you want to trawl at night you need a boat lantern, or you can throw the bottle lantern into the ocean and trawl in circles around it, just be careful not to trawl over it as you'll catch it in the net.

Ahh.  Gotcha.  Thanks for the explanation.  That makes sense.
