Idea for shipwrecked similar to Caves in RoG

Hello guys, i wanted to share my ideas with you.

 

How about an underwater world:

Entrance is a swirl where you can jump in, like cave holes

You have to craft diving equipment and have bottles filled with air.

 

Many underwater creatures like:

  • OctoPuss (half octopus half cat) who squirt ink on your face if attacked or can befriend you for a fish.
  • Moray eels who live in holes and are poisonous.
  • Shieldfrogs (pun for the german translation Schildkröte, drops turtle shell for crafting armor)
  • Pistol Crabs (shoots stones/limestones at you)
  • Lantern fish (drops fuel for lanterns)
  • Believe it or not but there is a Crab called Yeti Crab. It is hairy and white. It could be the underwater equivalent for Bunnies or a Boss Monster.
  • Cuthulu
  • Puffer fish (spiky and poisonous, drops poisonous darts.)

 

Different Biomes like:

  • Coral reef biome
  • Sand biome
  • Dark and deep areas where the Lantern fish is living
  • Sea weed Biome
  • Bioluminescence biome

Events:

  • Underwater tornados or currents which throws items from your inventory away and brings you on a different place underwater.
  • Fish migrations
  •

There is actually volcano cave files already in the game and that sounds really cool!!!

Maybe there could be, like, half-flooded caves accessible by diving.

Like, where your character has implicitly just swum through a flooded passage into a drippy wet cave network which regularly floods as the tides rise and fall.

 

During Hurricaine season, the sound of wind rushing through the holes in the cieling sounds like moans and produces sanity drain.

During Monsoon season, the drippy rain gets even worse and tides rise higher.

During Volcano season, earthquakes become a regular occurance.

 

Perhaps there could be multiple variants of the caves in each area map, rather than three sets of caves. Ancient civilizations in one, drippy caves in another... Possibly semi-abandoned pirate hideouts in the third.

I love the idea of underwater biome / caves. It doesn't need to be another generated world like caves - for example if someone was to dive from a raft/boat with diving equipment, he/she would immediately appear in an underwater biome and that will be different for shoals, light ocean and deep ocean too. There could be trenches, treasures, lost cities, and many creatures :).

 

Of course the diving equipment needs to be expensive and wouldn't give you a lot of time under water unless you would have some refills in your inventory. And maybe you could find some underwater stuff, that would be able to refill you with oxygen - like lightbulbs refill your light in caves :)
