Hello guys! I'm Crystal and I’m a player of Don’t Starve and Don’t Starve Together. First of all, I have to say sorry for my bad English.

Then, I really appreciate these two games and I love them. I would like to propose my idea to implement a new neutral/good mob in the game (it is a little dream for me). The idea is to implement chickens.

The reason: I had a chicken this year and I discovered that chicken can be a domestic animal. I received the chick in a gift, and during her growth I discovered that chicken is a docile, quiet and affective animal, and it’s possible train (teach) it.

How it would be: I’d like see this mob in the game, a cute and quiet animal, sociable and not unable to make damage to the player or others mobs. The utility of this chicken would be drop eggs. If killed the chicken would drop plumage or meat. You can train it giving seeds or vegetables to the chicken and it could became a pet (who can follow the player or stay at his campfire creating a nest). During winter the chicken could approach the campfire of the player for warm itself. The ideal biome for this mob would be the Mosaic biome or Grasslands biome. You could also find a hen-house in the pigs village.

I really want to see my idea realized in the original game but I will happy with a mod too.

The problem is: I don't know how make a Mod for mobs in the game! :(

Someone can help me, explain to me how to do it or supportate me and my idea? :love-struck:

PS. post-739856-0-81560000-1449568568_thumb. I give to you a draw that I made (using my chicken) of a possible chicken in the game. post-739856-0-81560000-1449568568_thumb.

Well, thank you for reading this! I hope someone will help me!  :love_heart:

(and again sorry for my bad English ♥)

@KHCrystal, you could try the "Creature Tutorial" tutorial series by Klei found in the singleplayer Don't Starve Workshop. They go step by step on how to make a mob.

For your mob to be a tameable pet, it mostly needs a brain. So after you've followed all of the 8 tutorials I just mentioned (and then followed this tutorial I recommend to get familiar with Don't Starve(Together) modding), go have a look at the "pigman" brains and prefabs. If you run into a problem (or if you are just stuck, not knowing what to do), the forum is here for you.

By the way, those are some beautiful chicken drawings! :-)

I would do the project with you if only I had the time (this is a rather time consuming project, fair warning  :listening_headphone )

Edit: Oh and get Notepad++ and the Don't Starve Mod Tools, those will be really important for modding! (should be mentioned in the tutorial I linked)
