DangerD Posted December 5, 2015 Share Posted December 5, 2015 Is there a point to the thermal stone in this game? does it help to dry you out at all or does it only serve as a cooling aid in the hot season IF you have a fridge or endothermic fire ?? Also whats the peg leg besides a bad wep.. that it? pls help and can ANY confirm what the dam captain hat does??!!?!? AnteSocial Posted December 6, 2015 Share Posted December 6, 2015 I've found no need to make a thermal stone up to day 60 at least, as staying warm isn't an issue (I can't be bothered dealing with volcano season so haven't played much past that point - staying cool might be trickier, so you may need one by then). For drying out I use either my Palm Leaf Shelter + Chiminea/fire (too OP. Klei plz nerf ), or my Blubber Suit (or Umbrella + Football Helmet if I can't find a Whale). The Captain Hat reduces the rate at which your boat's durability deminishes (Wiki confirms this). This only seems to apply to general wear-and-tear/usage though. Getting hit by waves/enemies still appears to do the same amount of damage, regardless of having the Captain Hat equipped. As far as I can tell so far it offers a small amount of protection from rain as well (less than Football Helmet I think - I equipped an Umbrella + Captain Hat and was only getting a tiny bit wetter by the second. Although that may have just been the Umbrella alone). I've yet to find the Peg Leg so I can't help with that one. I was hoping it would be like a Walking Cane, but I feel like that would be a fairly obvious effect and people wouldn't be asking what it does if that was the case. Perhaps this only applies during the day, although I can't say I've noticed it.
