KuroiShichibi
There needs to be a way to move the sandbags or destroy them or whatnot x_X.I am in Flood Season once again (day 121) and figured beforehand that it would be good to surround my camp with too lines of sandbags for protection...Yeah... only that I JUST read that you only have to surround the upcoming puddles completely. Though, there is also the problem that you can't, or at least not in my game, place them on top of sand hills.Ok, then building them around them, it is fine.Though, if puddles spawn IN your camp, with a sandbag wall around it, you don't have much of an option to surround it anymore v.v, otherwise you want to end up trapped. So far, I was okay with the bugs (hounds following me out into the sea, walking on water XD, for example) and the overdone Volcano and Flood Season, but if I can't protect myself from the floods correctly.. it does ruin the fun, especially because you are unable to move the sandbags and then getting poisoned almost every night x_X. Either make the sandbags movable or destroyable OR make no water come in, if you have the base surrounded with them.I mean... you will at one point need a wall, no?Due to the fact that the water is everywhere at a certain point later in that season. Another suggestion would be like.. making us able to craft sandwalls, where the water is unable to flood past them (because too high), which would keep the water out from the sea and then we can deal with surrounding the spwaning puddled with sandbags (that still need to be movable, though) . Just wanted to throw it out there and see what others think about that issue ^^. 1v0
You can destroy them with a hammer . But they will give you only 1 sand back .Would be better if you can dig them up and place them again ... Urgh, right the hammer... forgot that thing XD ~facepalms~.Ok, I will do that... ah well, at least I can move them now, even though the only 1 sand is a bit meh. Yeah, I agree, you should be able to dig them up or something similar to that and replace them, I mean that is what gets done IRL. Though, I still think it is, sorry, shitty that puddles spawn randomly in an area with sandbags around it AND then the water coming in from the sea (it does come from the sea, I guess?).So, sandwalls would be an awesome thing to have, to at least tackle that problem.I also hope the water won't come past the sandbags that where placed before the puddle spawned behind them. Gaseraki
On my second attempt at the rainy session I knew what to do and had two puddles spawn in my crop patches. So I had to just wall them offDo the puddles spawn in the same place? That doesn't seem to work for me .I walled the puddles off, but they still keep leaking through the sandbag walls v.v.Hopefully that is a bug and will get fixed, because the Monsoon Season just started urgh... DangerD
Typically after a sand bag is placed in real life it isn't moved until its no longer needed. But i agree that they aren't permanent structures as well sooooo. Maybe if you have a hand slot open you could carry a single sand bag in that slot at a reduced movement speed like the piggy back. ( you should be able to build sand bags ahead of time for the season and not just have to leave them in a chest ) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/60127-sandbag-moving/#findComment-693099 Share on other sites
AliceUndrground
As far as I can tell puddles don't spawn on biomes other than beaches? Or at least not in the middle of the biome since they will spawn from the flooding edges of course. I've been making my longer term bases closer to the middle of islands and away from beaches then sandbagging when needed. A super invention I'd like to see is a bucket something to scoop water out of a sandbagged area if water does get in or if a puddle forms in your camp. They also spawn in rocky bioms and jungle bioms and the water can flow through 3 layers of sandbags, I guess they are buggy at the moment. I think that might also be a bug specific to the puddles? I placed sandbags next to a flooding edge and it stopped the water perfectly. A super invention I'd like to see is a bucket something to scoop water out of a sandbagged area if water does get in or if a puddle forms in your camp. Puddles spawn pretty much everywhere at the moment, except on rocky / volcano biomes, but of course they get flooded from the sea.My long term base is on the beach biome, but kind of in the middle, granted the island isn't super big, but it had the resources I wanted/needed.Problem is, as mentioned above, that the sandbags seem to be buggy here and there, letting water leak through... I hope that isn't intentional x_X. The bucket idea sounds GREAT and would help me a lot, because one spawns in my camp ALL the time, even though it is shielded off with 2 layers of sandbags. They also spawn in rocky bioms and jungle bioms and the water can flow through 3 layers of sandbags, I guess they are buggy at the moment. THREE layers even?!Oh dear lord x_X.. I really hope the leaking through isn't intentional and this gets fixed. At least I know now, that I wasn't too dumb and the 2 layers wouldn't help XD.I reeeally hope for dam like walls, to shield oneself off from the outside flooding x_X, though then one would need a ladder or something, otherwise you are pretty much trapped in the island XD. Aaah well, this is what makes DS so funny, the potential to see new things being implemented, based on the ideas of users and whatnot, I love that <3.
