Bug? Jungle tree guards

   First off, three spawned at once on day 5 or so, which is unusual compared to the normal game but may be intended. The main issue is their melee range, which I'm hoping wasn't intentional as I was getting hit from half a screen away, making it impossible to kite their melee attacks. I was forced to run in immediately after his coconut attack for a few hits and run back, causing him to throw more coconuts. It was an interesting fight, but the range is a bit overpowered and very nearly killed me as it was unexpected.

The melee range is something we're looking into but being attacked by THREE of them is definitely intentional!

Alright, cool! That actually works well in my opinion, it's just the melee range that makes it arduous. Thanks for the response :)

Ok, well I'm not sure how to fight them, because their attacks do too much damage to tank, but you can't kit them because while one is winding back one of the others' is swinging so there is no time to get in and out.

Lighting them on fire makes them panic and just dance around like a buffoon instead of fighting  :happypigs:

Seconded, I do not believe that Jungle Tree guards are implemented yet......

Like many things in Shipwrecked, a different style is necessary for many challenges than some people are used to in vanilla DS, or RoG. Palm tree guards are one of these things. While their melee attack range is HUGE, they are also stupidly slow to reset, and both the ranged and melee attacks are on the same timer.

Therefore, it is easy to simply wait for the ranged attack to be thrown, run in, attack 4-5 times, and then run out of range. You then wait for the next ranged attack and repeat. There is more than enough time using this method to get away safely and take no damage. Another hint is that running in before the projectiles have been launched is a bad idea, since you want them to target away from the guard (not near the guard where you will be)

 

If there were one, sure, but not three of them,, their timers aren;t all the same so the time you have to run in and attack is short to nonexistent.
