It doesn't seem to affect everything -- large meats and eggs seem to have stayed visible. You can get them back from him by killing him, but... Shift clicking items into him will give it to his inventory and not his container (which is the one you can see when you open him). For now just place items in manually and I'll look into fixing the problem.
