Custom character, custom items?

Hello!

So, two part question.

 

1.

I have followed the tutorial on how to establish a custom item in the game, and can even equip it.

However, it doesn't DO anything.

Is there a tutorial on how to make an item give sanity, reduce wetness, give health, etc?

 

2.

I've seen custom characters with their own, canon-related recipes. 

However, I have tried to make my own items and recipes matching those templates, but because mods withhold a portion of the data, I think I'm missing something.

I used the code for custom items, recipe tab creation, and I even created the "exported' .png's that are needed.

When I load the game, it doesn't crash.

It sits at the loading screen forever. 

What am I missing?

@naptimeshadows, to get help with your mod from the community you'll likely need to upload your mod and explain specifically where you think your issue is. Good luck with your modding!

 

Which mods do you think are withholding some data? You should be able to see the lua code for any mod on the Steam Workshop.
