Can't get Dedicated Server to work/Can't change max players settings

I followed all the instructions on setting up the dedicated server. I typed the token code into the dialogue box and everything, and no file appeared in the Klei folder like it should have, so I copied the folder manually. I edited the information and made sure all the lines were coded correctly but nothing happens when I start the game, except that when I increase the max number of players in the settings file and reopen game it changes the setting of players from 6 to 2. I can still put it back up to two but I can't do anything else.

I was also wondering if any of this might be affected by my wireless network security settings.

 

I'm not a computer person so all this really confuses me

Did u changed the Max players setting while the Server was still online?
If yes you need to turn off the server first and then edit the settings.ini
Otherwise the Server will rewrite it back to its original state after closing it
