Gingerbread
hello, I wanted to make an automated system in linux for server update but I have no idea how system can check if there is an update available or not? What would be the way to make the system auto-check if there is a new update out there? I mean rest is pretty simple. We should just write a simple shell script to restart both servers for caves beta but how to make computer to be alerted when there is a new update? Thanks. Gingerbread
Anyone knows anything about auto update for steamcmd? Only updates when there is an update available. How to check if there is a newer version?
jacklul
Probably you could check this page for available update: https://steamdb.info/depot/343052/ note that this is for non-beta server
psymin
Or you could run the update command from steamcmd and parse the output to see if it updated I'm also interested in being able to autoupdate and restart when a new version comes out.
