Hi there,

Currently making a mod of a knight. I used a character template.

Currently and by default, the skirt is going over the torso in all the animations and stances, but i want the opposite with the torso being placed over the skirt.

What do i need to change ?

The problem your having is Z order. It's a common issue with modding dont starve. The game puts all the parts of the sprites into a certain order, always. This ensures all the parts are always in the right place. There is a magical way to change it, but I don't know what it is.

So your going to have to mod the parts the way you want them. You may have to do some magic and make the torso with a skirt underneath it, via shading. Or you could get crazy and make the skirt the torso and the torso the skirt. But thats crazytalk. THEN again, this is modding, anything is possible. You just have to get creative.

Yup, if I don't find a solution i'll have to find another way around. I searched in the forum but each time i've found someone with the same issue as me, it seemed like just changing how the files stacked up on the z axis was not possible.

However if there's a magical way to change it i would like to know it. Hopefully someone with the knowledge will see this topic  c:

I would attempt to hide the skirt, and draw in the skirt on the torso piece, it would be a lot easier.

That way you can publish quicker, and get your charter out there. Once published, you can always go back and try and figure it out.

Otherwise, it could take a month or two trying to come up with a solution (troubleshooting, errors, refining animations, so on so forth)

Believe me, custom animations are so much of a pain, it can cost you months of work just to get one detail fixed, that's holding up your entire project.
