Issue Title: Chester is getting slower!

Issue Description: I don't know if its me but Chester has gotten WAY slower in the past couple weeks. Its to the point that if you don't even have a walking cane and just use paths he's lost. And he stops following and DOES not teleport to you if you get to far away. Only way to bring him straight to you is to use a wormhole. This is getting really annoying especially since he does not appear on the map.

Steps to Reproduce: 1. find chester

2. move at a speed faster than normal walking pace.

please before a million responses saying the exact same thing of the guy above this post, I KNOW CHESTER MOVES SLOWER THAN YOU ON A ROAD OR WITH WALKING CANE.  I'm saying he's moving EVEN SLOWER than usual.  Before you had to go a ways before you could ditch chester with him stopping to follow but now I can get a screen away in less than 20 seconds.   Also they patched this awhile ago people and made it that if you got too far away, chester would teleport to you.  This is no longer the case AGAIN.  He now only teleports to you through a wormhole which was ALWAYS the case.

I've noticed this too. I keep having to backtrack to Chester because if you're too far he just gives up.
