I can't connect to my own server through LAN, yet others can connect to my server through the internet

Recommended Posts

This has been a recent issue for me, all of a sudden I cannot connect to my own server on my local network. Other people have no trouble connecting to my server on the internet though.

I have tried:

- Using a different port (10998 instead of 10999)

- Updating the server

- Disabling the new steam groups feature

Not really sure what else to do here, is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

I've attached my settings.ini file (removed name, description and password) and log.txt file

Thanks in advanced for any help

Update:

Still no luck, I still can't see my server on LAN

 - I've updated again to the latest version of the dedicated server (and DST)

 - Added "-steam_authentication_port 12345" and "-steam_master_server_port 12346" to start_dst.sh

Something new has popped up after these changes though

[s_API FAIL] SteamAPI_Init() failed; SteamAPI_IsSteamRunning() failed.
/home/buildbot/buildslave/steam_rel_client_linux/build/src/clientdll/applicationmanager.cpp (2990) : Assertion Failed: CApplicationManager::GetMountVolume: invalid index
/home/buildbot/buildslave/steam_rel_client_linux/build/src/clientdll/applicationmanager.cpp (2990) : Assertion Failed: CApplicationManager::GetMountVolume: invalid index
/home/buildbot/buildslave/steam_rel_client_linux/build/src/clientdll/applicationmanager.cpp (3118) : Assertion Failed: m_vecInstallBaseFolders.Count() > 0

Not sure what this means, could this be what's causing the problem?

Sometimes this is a router issue. To test, try c_connect() instead of using the UI. If it works, then you've at least identified the problem. We're working on something to make this easier!

I actually did try c_connect() and it just gave me a black screen afterwards and did not connect. Seeing as though reinstalling the dedicated server fixed the issue I have my doubts that it was a router issue. Maybe something got corrupted somehow.

Looking foward to it!
