Lack of flint is a common brick wall

Recommended Posts

There is too little flint in un-modded wilderness servers. It really halts progress and makes the game slower and boring. When flint runs out then its basically game over. Could there be a way to make flint a renewable resource? Like maybe have a giant rock lobster that roams the world crapping out flint or have a special mole hole that sprays out flint and rock at regular intervals.

There are too many moments where im surrounded by rock but cant make a single pick because all the flint is gone and keep dying while wandering the world in search of some.

There are meteor fields where mine-able rocks rain from the sky and occasionally hitting other rocks resulting in instant mined minerals.

If you're just entering the server and see no flint for your purposes, grab as much grass and twigs as you can and make torches then explore until you find either some flint lying around or the meteor fields. Proceed from there.

If you're already in late game stages, I suggest you go with gold tools, which are made renewable by the Pig King.

EDIT: Lazy grammar O__O

Maybe they could adjust the meteor waves to take into account the number of flint in the floor near the meteor spawner.

So near spawners you have 20 flint over time, like in 7 days.

This without taking into account the rocks that fall, the idea is to have minimal flints to pick the rocks.

But don't falling rocks also sometimes destroy things they land on like rocks?

Sometimes meteor explode with nothing.

Sometimes they explode and drop 2 flint and 1 rock.

Sometimes they drop a boulder with nitre.

Sometimes they drop a boulder with moonrocks.

During any collision, they do have a chance to break other rocks. But what if they don't?

An upcoming update addresses this problem.

Our first step is the forestresourcespawner which simply, for wilderness and endless, ensures that there are a few flint and twigs and bushes around the player spawns. We do this explicitly, just to ensure there's something there when you log in. It's not meant to regenerate the world, but rather to ensure that some basic materials are available for new players when they log in.
